STEPS INVOLVED TO GET THE BEST FINISH LIKE THIS HARDWOOD DECKING:
This hardwood timber decking had many years of wear and tear and weathering. There were obvious areas where the existing timber coating had totally broken down, hence allowing a grime and moisture build up which impregnated the grain. Other areas still had residues of the old coating there, but fungi and mould was evident under the coating and between the timber. This made removal difficult, but necessary in order to achieve an even professional finish.

| 1.Wash with a woodcleaner e.g DECKSWOOD and rinse- or use POWERLIFT a stronger cleaner to remove old existing coats |
| 2. Sand back to bare timber with a machine sander using a coarse sandpaper. |
| 3. Below: apply Sikkens HLS with a hog bristle brush and work in lineal rows e.g approx 4 timber lengths at a time. This avoids "lap" marks |

| This decking had 3 coats of Sikkens HLS 077. Another good method is to use HLS 077 as the first coat, and CETOL DECK 078 as the 2nd and 3rd coats. CETOL DECK 078 now also comes in a nonslip called CETOL DECK PLUS. Crockers are stockists of all products. |
